The race venue was the Grouse Inn, Harehills Lane, Oldfield, Near Keighley, West Yorkshire. Both the senior race and the junior races were on the same courses as last year. Conditions were dry for the duration of the races but very wet under foot. The winner of the senior race was Alan Buckley of Gateshead Harriers, in a time of 35.15. The first lady was Joe Buckley of Gateshead Harriers, in a time of 37.59, which is a new course record. Joe's time is a very good achievement cutting the time by 3.30 minutes. The first male veteran was A Carruthers of Crawley AC in a time of 38.20. The first lady veteran was Sue Fulton of Bingley Harriers in a time of 47.00.
In the junior races the turn out was very disappointing with only eight runners in the three races. Come on juniors you can do much better than this , lets have a bumper turn out next year!
Under 12 Race
The first boy was Ben Johnson of Wharfedale in a time of 10.12. The first girl was Nicole Narey of Bingley Harriers in a time of 11.43 .
Under 14 Race
The first boy was Ben Marriott in a time of 13.51. There were no girl runners in this race.
Under 16 Race
The first boy was Jordon Beard in a time of 17.06. The first girl was Annika Jarman in a time of 17.53.
A big thanks goes out to all the runners, the marshals, all the other helpers and the Grouse Inn for the venue.
Next year the races will be again based at the Grouse Inn and over the same courses. The senior race will start at 11.30 and the junior race at 11.35. |
