It is with great sadness that i have to pass on this news,Gerry Spink has died yesterday,i do not have any more details, John Capenerhurst has just rang,and ask me to pass on this sad news.
I am very upset at the moment,the man was my mentor and friend.

This is very sad news and a great loss. I'm sure that those of us who were lucky enough to have known him will have great memories. As well as a friend through the club Jerry alo became a close family friend. We will miss you Gerry.

i will be putting together/leading a run this thursday night(1st march) at the club in memory of Gerry.
It will be an old harrier route.

Gerrys funeral is on tuesday 6th of March Nab Wood Crematorium,humanist service,aterwards at Fairmont Park Nab Wood Drive.

Dear Adrian
I spent hours and hours with Gerry... the slow monday 10 miler...
the saturday long ones.. and some of my happiest memories of summer thursday evenings over the moors with him..
verbal diarrhea from both of us. Fond memories and if we can give others those.. then we have done something..

I'm really sad about that, Adrian
I saw him a few weeks ago walking his dogs. Looked as fit as ever.
The banter in the Nab Wood changing room 20 years ago between him and young runners such as Ian Holmes and Andy Peace was brilliant. A great character.
I'll be at the funeral.
