Harewood Chase & Harriers v Cyclists

Postby peacey » Mon Feb 08, 2010 11:06 pm

Unfortunately that has been no volunteers to take over the organisation of these races after 2010 when Bob is stepping down. The Harewood Chase is just about finalised for this year and Harriers v Cyclists does not take a great deal of organising.

If we want these 2 great events to continue we really do need a couple of people to step up to the plate and put there names forward to spearhead the organisation. If you do want to help the club in putting these events on then both Bob and I would be very grateful but you would also have the assistance of a large number of volunteers who already help with marshalling etc. Bob Dover is extremely organised and the handover for 2011 would be very smooth I'm sure.

Again, all offers of help are greatly appreciated but for events such as this do we need to formulate an events committee again?

If you want to discuss things please let me know.

A huge Thankyou to Stephen Firth who has kindly volunteered to take the reigns over from Bob Dover and organise the Harriers v Cyclists event, thanks also to Sue Robinson who has also offered to help out on this, I'm sure the two of you can work together really well and continue the success of this unique event.

It's fantastic that 2 relatively new members of our club are willing to get involved, thank you. If you want any assistance there is a team of willing volunteers just ask Bob Dover or I to point you in the right direction.

Does anybody else, or even a small team, want to follow their lead and help out with the Clubs biggest event, The Harewood 10k Chase?

I'm willing to step into the fold but it would be great to see some new names branching out.
