Tuesday 5th January 2010. (Andy's session)

First of all Happy New Year to you all. I hope you've all been keeping up the training and not over indulging on the grog and grub (like me....take that as you will).

Due to the rather 'changeable' weather, can I suggest we all bring shoes for both the Road and the Grass and we'll decide what to do on the night.

If the streets are clear I plan on doing long hills if not we'll train on the field.

See you then.

Sorry Guys - The weather's beaten us again.

NO TRAINING TUESDAY 5th JANUARY :(

I've just got back from running to / from work and the roads where I live are still a nightmare.

See you next Tuesday (hopefully).

I understand there is a headtorch run going from the club at 7pm.

The Bunny Runs are Coming.....

We want as many Bingley Harriers as possible to run the Bunny Runs this year so throughout April there’ll be no structured training sessions on a Tuesday night. Instead, please go along to Haworth and put all that training into practise. The dates and times of the races are shown below :-

· 6th April 7.00pm
· 13th April 7.15pm
· 20th April 7.30pm
· 27th April 7.30pm
· followed by the Bunny Relays on Tuesday 4th May at 7.30pm

All races are 3 miles long with around 300 feet of climb and take place around the same course so you can chart your progress as the series unfolds.
Entry is £2 on the night from the Old Sun Hotel - Haworth

Senior Tuesday speed / hill training will recommence :-

Tuesday 18th May - 7.00pm Bradford & Bingley Sports Club.

Whilst the nights are light we'll make use of our local off-road facilities such as the canal, Hirst Wood, Altar Lane, St Ives etc.

First session - speed intervals in Hirst Wood

Hope to see you there.

I've had a request from one of the group to post the future plans for the Tuesday sessions.

What we're going to try for the next few months is a 3 week rotation of :

wk.1. Hill Session
wk.2. Speed / Endurance Session
wk.3. Time Trial

Whilst we have the light nights, the hill and speed sessions will be off road in Hirst Wood, Altar Lane, Cottingly Wood etc and the time trials will be along the canal.

Please try and bring a watch - especially to the time trials to chart your progress.

Last week we did hills at 5 Rise Locks - this week was a speed session in Hirst Wood - next week is a 2 mile time trial along the canal.

Hi folks - just realised that I won't be there on Tuesday 1st June.

I'll do my best to get someone to lead the session but it's a pretty simple one so if nobody steps up to the plate here's the plan :-

- Steady warm up jog from the club along main road through centre of Bingley to Fire Station.
- Turn right over footbridge to canal
- Turn right down canal and do 4 x 50 meter strides along flat section heading back towards club.
- Stop at bridge alongside converted mill - the one that leads up to Ferncliffe / Gilstead.
- From here run a 2 mile time trial along the canal towpath to the bridge at Salts Mill Saltaire - see http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3769985
- Jog recovery back to club along canal.

Please try and remember to bring a watch and time your own run & post your times on here if you like.

Hi Folks - sorry I couldn't make it last week - I did organise a 'stand in' for me but he had to 'stand down' at the eleventh hour....

Anyway, next Tuesday 8th June it's the Bob Smith Handicap race at 7.15pm from the Sports Club so I propose we don't do a structured training session but go along and run that instead - much more fun!!!

All the details are here : http://www.bingleyharriers.org.uk/html/ ... /bshcp.htm

Cheers,

Andy
