Mike Smith
Mike Smith at Reservoir Bogs

Six harriers started the second long English championship race in drizzle and strong winds, becoming warmer later, which made for testing running conditions. Again this race has a bit of everything bogs, tussocks, tracks, big climbs and descents, and was the Yorkshire championships this year. Well done to Ali Raw who became Yorkshire vet 45 champion. Other finishers were Andy Jebb, Ged Callan, Mike Smith and Marc Latham. Well done. Results on FRA website. Next race in the club championship is the Burnsall Classic, see you there.

We are delighted to announce that Sportshoes Unlimited of Bradford have agreed to sponsor our Junior Fell Championship in 2010. Full details are yet to be agreed but the sponsorship will take the form of prizes for age category winners and the overall championship awards. Hopefully this will encourage our youngsters to keep training through the dark, cold winter months ready for our first race in the new series which we can reveal will be the Stanbury Splash in January
